Receive a Resume Writing and Cover Letter Workshop in Auburn TodayOn February 7th, the Virtual Assistance Association, or VAWA (for V.A.T. of Auburn), is hosting a resume writing and cover letter workshop in auburn today at 4 p.m. at US Bank in Auburn.The workshop is co-sponsored by VAWA and South Carolina State University's Auburn campus. It is also being presented as part of a larger event on how to write a cover letter for an applicant.Register to attend this workshop by contacting Vanessa Browning, who is the executive director of VAWA, at vbrowning@vau.org. The workshop will be hosted by Robert Baeten, a certified copywriter for The New York Times.The purpose of the workshop is to teach students how to write a covering letter for potential applicants. In it, they will learn about how to create a strong and compelling letter with just a few short paragraphs. The goal is to show that you have the necessary skills to work with them.This is especially important for those candidates' s resumes and cover letters are required to be submitted in writing today. The process of writing a letter that makes an employer wants to contact a job applicant may seem simple, but many people do not apply enough time into it.As a hiring manager, I work hard to weed out candidates who don't meet my criteria for becoming part of my team. There is no point in hiring someone if they have never had a chance to demonstrate their ability to work with others, and if they have been given no opportunity to make a good impression.With all the variables at play, it is the job of those who are seeking positions to know what they need to do to get noticed. We can't simply go out and hire anyone who has applied for the position.
